The second episode of the first season of The Mouse Factory is titled “Women’s Lib” airing on February 2, 1972. The shenanigans are hosted by Jo Anne Worley, a comedian and actress best known for her work on Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In.

Disney fans will know her operatic tones as "The Wardrobe" in Disney's, "Beauty and the Beast." This episode explores how women have been improving their positions in life (through a 1972 cultural lens) via various segments featuring Disney characters and live-action footage; such as,

"The Rutabaga Rag," written by Ther Sherman Brothers for the animated short, "A Symposium On Popular Music" originally performed by Paul Frees as Ludwig Von Drake. It wasn't written as a parody of ragtime, but rather as an authentic ragtime song. Von Drake claims to have invented ragtime music and, specifically, this song.

From 1954s, "The Whale Who Wanted to Sing at the Met", Willie the Operatic Whale makes an appearance to sing excerpts from Tristan and Isolde with Jo Anne.

Technical notes: A.I. upscaled to 1080p from original 480p source. Davinci Resolve 18.5.Handbrake de-interlace + LapUnsharp. Original audio converted to AAC. Encode: H.265 10-bit Nvidia GTX3070.
