V Rising | Nibbles The Putrid Rat | Brutal Difficulty, Solo Kill

Method to kill the rat on Brutal as I had some trouble on him:

#1: Upgrade your gear. This game punishes you for having a gear level lower than the enemy pretty harshly, your gear level should be 33 or above for this boss. This means you will need a gravediggers ring and partially upgraded armor with a merciless copper weapon.

#2: His abilities are - Basic attack/lunge, Charged up series of attacks/lunges, Submerge/summon rats, and most important here his AOE burst ability that is his brutal ability.

#3: Skills/Weapon used - I used the merciless copper sword, it did fine, the AOE was helpful for the summons. However the spear would probably be a better choice as the Q interrupts everything he does (though I don't know if it stops his burst AOE). I used frost nova and frost counter, you can do this with the Spider or Skeleton summon ult if you kill Nicolaus the Fallen before fighting him, but it doesn't matter, this fight is about playing around the burst AOE and you don't need an ult to do that.

Methodology: You will have to play around his BURST AOE. This attack seems to go out consistently every ~7 seconds. Figure out the timing for this and use the following method to play around it. Start the fight by engaging at range with your frost nova and begin running away, as he runs toward you he will use his BURST AOE. When he does this IMMEDIATELY walk into him, you can hit him a couple of times, then watch for one of his melee attacks, use your frost counter to absorb the attack and freeze him, RUN AWAY IMMEDIATELY. Wait for his next BURST AOE, re-engage and land a few attacks, you will have to use your DASH away from him around when his next BURST AOE happens as your counter will not be up yet, when you DASH let him hit the decoy the dash leaves behind and again wait for his next AOE. After this AOE goes off, re-engage, bait out an attack ASAP, use counter again, RUN AWAY IMMEDIATELY again. Re-engage after the AOE, hit him some, DASH out before his next AOE. REPEAT THIS AD NAUSEUM until he dies.

Tips - your COUNTER will freeze him, your DASH will leave behind a decoy that he will attack, use this to get some distance so you can wait for the AOE and then re-engage.

It is important to QUICKLY bait out an attack when you are using your FROST COUNTER. So it is important to re-engage ASAP when you have to frost counter so you can bait an attack as quickly as possible and run away while he is frozen. When you DASH is up you have more freedom, and can land more attacks before dashing away when his AOE is about to go off.

Once he loses around half his health he will begin using submerge and summon some smaller rats. Use your frost counter, frost nova, sword whirlwind, etc to DPS them down, but there is no rush. If Nibbles comes back up before they are all dead just return to the above alternating pattern of counter/kite/dash/kite to kill whatever is still up.

While the video here shows the player just brute forcing the fight at a significantly higher gear level (no shade, its a valid way to do this annoying boss), the method above can yield a hitless kill of Nibbles even with an even gear score.

i cant beat him, he just does the AOE ground slam every 2 seconds for 90 dmg without counterplay bc he has no indicator when he does that, wtf

so... i killed him and got the rat form but now he's just... in my castle? How do I get rid of him?

litterly bullshit does aoe non stop. way more dmg to me even if my gear is higher. this has to be dmg increase for player and dmg taken nerfed for player server. as its not brutal normal brutal at least
