I'm a full-time drywall finisher with 20+ years experience, and I find myself learning a few things from your videos. Thanks for sharing your tips.

25 years of free handing with a 12 inch knife and I wish we had YouTube when I first started because I have never used a bigger knife I wish now I would have. I hate finishing now so I try to sub it out but great tricks for.the new guy starting out

I have had one of those blades for about a year and I just love it for butt joints, it really is a game changer.

Hey that first guy he showed named Joe... Lol. Man I'm sorry but that was HILARIOUS 😂. anybody who muds a butt joint with a 6 has no clue at all what they are doing. 1st year apprentice even know better than that. You use a 10-12" knife. I use a 10 just because it feels more comfy but a lot of REAL PROFESSIONALS use a 12. I have bad carpal tunnel so it's hard for me to get the right pressure with a 12. I'm 33.. been finishing almost 16 years now. Ik every trick of the trade. Learned from my pop whose almost 70 and still at it. Been finishing almost 50 years. Started when it was only plaster. I hate to call someone out but that Joe guy has absolutely NO CLUE what he is doing at all!! I'm a proud union member by the way. Local 47 Indianapolis Indiana!!😉. #UNIONSTRONG💪

Thank you for these videos. I often need reminders of how to do certain things and also love learning new (often better) ways to do things from you. Keep up the great work.

your easy to follow. I needed to sharpen my skills for patches in 10 year old house that plumbers had to cut open orange peel textured walls under the slab leak feed. The last thing I want is for the owner to "see" the patches. thanks

I really live the combo of a rookery to apply mud and a skim blade. I’m doing a house for my wife and I and she can stay ahead of me with a roller applying while I feather with a knife and clean up with a large skim blade.

Great video! There’s one thing you had in the original video that I missed in this one: you talked about it being hard and possibly take a long time to learn how to do it right. 😅 (It may be discouraging to some but for me it just takes the pressure off and helps temper my expectations.) I haven’t attempted it yet but will be soon on a two foot racing stripe the electricians took out of the middle of the wall running the length of me kitchen… Thank you so much for doing these videos!!

Ive been trying to sand drywall repairs “flat” this whole time, never knew you leave a little hump and go significantly wider than the repair.

Yes just saw a Level 5 video on this. He put the mud on with a paint roller.
Same process as you with the skimming knife.

Nice! Have you tried using a skimmer on your flats? I find it a lot easier on the wrist than a traditional knife.

What a great channel, clear and to the point. I was just wondering if feathering the edges left and right is still needed if you use a skim blade. Could you tell me what your experience is with that?

If the sheetrock wasn't done properly, then, the job gets harder. I've seen some terrible hanging sheetrock. Great tips!
