Having participated in several exercises practicing emergency resupply to civilians in case of a major incident that is going to disrupt normal logistics for an extended keep ONE MONTHS worth of essential supplies at home.

DO NOT advertise the fact you have supplies, and any form of light, power, heat, cooking you intend to use, try to make it that it will not broadcast that you have it. ( no smoke/noise and do not light up house like ab xmas tree )

I noticed that they never mentioned duck tape and plastic sheeting. Although if they thought there was a chance of nuclear war they might have put up the old safety films of survive but then again that would cause mass panic these days.

FAN THE FLAMES.... I cannot help but notice your hurricane lamp in the background. This really makes me smile. When I was a child my parents used to send me to the corner shop for paraffin for our heaters. In those distant days we even had a choice of paraffin, Blue or Pink. Ah those were the days, hard up but at least warm. Nowadays we are told we are not allowed to even use a paraffin filled hurricane lamp indoors even in an emergency situation. Sadly it is now only fit for outdoor use. So my question is... has paraffin changed in some deadly way since the early 1960's!! I am fully ware that some people have died as a result of accidents with paraffin heaters, but many people continue to die today plugging in electric scooters. Strange times we live in. Try to imagine if you will.... The UK has just been nuked and my wife and I are huddled around our hurricane lamp in the ruins of our old home. Suddenly the wardens voice calls out "Oi put that lamp out don't you know there not for indoor use" Great channel mate, it continues to make me smile.

Prepper or not, there’s every chance the lights will be going out in the UK this winter, the unions will make sure so get candles, batteries, a camping stove, charcoal a small BBQ and lots of tin food, packet soup, rice and pasta etc…

Because they might not be able to get any gas for your camping stove I suggest finding an alternative cooking solution that doesn’t require gas, candles, fire jelly, etc. But remember to never leave them unattended as accidents happen.
