In November 1975, dictator Generalisimo Francisco Franco died. He was one of the military generals that revolted and took arms against against the democratic Republican Government. His side won the Spanish Civil War (1936=1939) and ruled Spain for over 40 years, in a dictatorship which is considered one of the longest in history. Democracy and liberties wouldn't fully return to Spain until the end of the 1970s decade. Notwithstanding, his legacy still prevails in some of the sectors of Spanish society.
