Your videos break the complex down into something understandable. Thanks! I left my previous employer (Cisco UCS & route/sw) about 3 months ago. Now at Unisys I am bombarded with learning storage (Hitachi, Compellant, Isilon, VXrail, Data Domain, Quantum) but the good news it seems I will have lots of overtime which is what I prefer. I have little knowledge of storage (enterprise) but I must change that quickly if I want to pay my bills. I am learning really high tech stuff but your post brings me back to what it is all about, servers vs storage is a simple concept. A lot of these devices have "controllers" with additional shelves. Isilon seems really interesting but you need big $ (enterprise) to get involved. Do you know who would be Isilon's (now PowerStore) competition? Also it seems like Vxrail (vmware) is for small private clouds (on prem or colo) while Isilon & data domain are for public cloud or really big private cloud. Everything keeps changing at a break neck pace, especially now that VMware is being bought.
