“You don’t want to avoid one extreme by do another extreme” Pure Gold

Truly a lightbulb moment when you realise you are a hoister. I always wondered how instructors in these videos can show their takeaway in slow motion and even hold it at the top, as I am only able to get to the top with a dose of momentum, even then it isn’t very comfortable, and forget about holding it. Now after trying moving shoulder few inches sideways while turning, it feels like my range of motion just doubled!!! And the wrist hinge info is brilliant too, I definitely am a reverse rotator, which always felt unnatural. Can’t wait to try this at the range, big Thanks to AMG!

DO NOT watch AMG!!! They ruined my marriage!!! My handicap has dropped significantly, and I’ve been spending all my time at the course - every weekend and every evening. My wife has left me, my children hate me. But damn it, I got a good golf game now.

Thanks again fellas. I didn't realize I was doing that, but I videoed myself and it was exactly this problem. I was lowering the shoulder, instead of rotating. Everything else fell back into place after that. I had no idea until I saw it with my own two eyes. Thanks again

This is why I watch you guys. I've been having this problem mostly when hitting longer clubs from the fairway. I can tell that Im doing it, and it usually results in a topped shot. I did it today from 200 yds out with the 4 hybrid. Thanks for making this video.

Got a lesson a year ago and the instructor fixed my set up and take away, from there i started making much better contact. He showed me on video and I was genuinely surprised at the difference it made. The club was much shallower in my DS and contact improved instantly. It took a lot of practice to get used to it but it definitely improved my game.

This is the only video that i have seen that talked about the inside takeaway with bowed wrists and the player being closed and has to open the face in the downswing. I usually see inside takeaway leading to open face at the top. I am the closed to open player, inside takeaway, shut face at the top, hit blocks by opening the face on the downswing if my timing isn’t perfect. This is enlightening.

The handshake analogy!!! Helped immediately.

I’m so glad you’ve put together the correct shoulder movement together with the correct lead arm and wrist movements. This has been bugging me for quite a while. 👍🏻👍🏻

This is exactly what I've been working on this year with unreal results. After years of having the face "pancaked" in the takeaway like a lot of pop instruction advocates I struggled mightily. This exact instruction has freed up my swing so much and I'm back to hitting it flush and enjoying the game again.

Gentlemen, when I watched the first couple of minutes I started thinking that as someone whose fault is taking the club back outside the target line, I thought this video might not be for me. However, the drills you talk about are drills that will help any takeaway. I particularly like the drill where you use the left arm only. It is, like you mention, virtually impossible to take it away off line. Also makingsure the left shoulder moves behind the ball it vital for all backswings. I have seen other videos of yours where you have hit on these points, but it is always good to get a refresher course. Always appreciate your videos. 🤘 ✌️

Was watching an older video of yours recently that covered some of this. Always good to have a recap, especially a detailed one like this!

This is the only video I have found that addresses the wrist position. Excellent

That's awesome. It would be awesome if you could do some videos specifically for golfers over 6'2. I believe taller golfers have some specific challenges presented by the lengths of the levers

Just in the group I play with there is probably a half dozen guys with funky back swings and they all result in poor contact. Just amazing how this first little move can dominate the whole swing. Great vid guys!

A shoulder driven take away and a late wrist set has done wonders for me

These guys know what they are talking about. These concepts are fundamentally sound. Doing the drills will make you a better golfer if you do not rush through them.
