How to Register Your Brand in Amazon's Brand Registry

In this video, I will talk about something that has helped so many Amazon FBA sellers prevent their product from being changed and edited by others. It doesn’t guarantee that your product will not be sold by other Amazon sellers but it does give an extra level of protection. This is the Amazon Brand Registry. It used to be easier to apply but they’ve made it a little bit more complicated. With Brand Registry, you can also enroll multiple brands and it doesn’t have to be the same name.

Why you need Brand Registry?
This is going to prevent people from being able to change and merge your product listing. it’s going to give you a lot more control of the Amazon platform. A lot of different functions and features are not available unless you’re in Brand Registry. It also makes it so it’s less likely that your product is going to get suppressed.

One of the things you need to apply is a trademark. You are also going to need a website with contact details. I recommend ideally if it could be the same URL as the email that you used to log in. You should also make sure that your brand name appears on the packaging or on the product itself. It lets Amazon know that whatever brand name you are trying to register, it really is your product.

How to apply for Brand Registry?
Applying for Brand Registry is crucial if you’re going to be selling on Amazon. Aside from giving you protection, it gives you access to A+ brand content. If you don’t have Brand Registry, you’re just going to have boring text. You are also able to add a video to your listing.

To apply for Brand Registry, you go to Inventory then click Upload & Manage Videos. You will see a box that shows Amazon Brand Registry. Click “Get Started”. Step 1 is the requirements. You need to have a trademark, either a text-based mark or an image-based mark. To get a trademark, you go to United States Patent and Trademark Office. Once you have the trademark, click “Enroll Now” Fill out the next questions under “Brand Eligibility,” “Intellectual Property,” and “Characteristics.” After you submitted the application, you’ll have to wait for a few days to hear from Amazon whether the brand is accepted or not.

What to do after approval?
Once your application is accepted, you can already create A+ content. Go to “Advertising” then click A+ Content Manager. You can also go to “Inventory” then “Upload & Manage Videos” which allows you to upload videos to your product page. This is a great way to make your product stand out and create a connection with your potential buyers.

Hi Travis, thank you for all the amazing videos and valuable informations. I have a question that I am not able to find a solid answer for, There are too much conflicting information out there and need to check with someone have done several of it successfully. The question: Can I have multiple Brands in my seller account? if yes, is that simple to do? Or need permission of Amazon? I will rephrase my question in a different way to make sure I am clear: as ZYX LLC Entity, I will create amazon seller account named ABC Store, and in there register more than 1 trademarked Brands which are: 1- Purple Apple Cups, 2- Blue Star Toys and 3- Orange Banana Shoes. I noted in this video and several others you are mentioning and confirming that yes you can have multiple Brands in you account, I just want to make sure that this is not a complicated/risky process, and also this rule has not been changed lately.

I create 1 product which is in 3 styles, each style has different print design and name. I bought 3 UPC codes (GS1).One code per style. The product is on production stage right now.My question is: Which one I have to use for brand registry? Or i need ASIN for that? And do I have to have already product on my hands to start it? Hey Travis, new subie! I’m just trying to learn as much as I can from your videos. I am looking to start FBA in January since amazon do not allow new sellers to come and start selling in Q4. My question is: why did you set your brand registry up so that you are the only one who can sell it? Aren’t there some benefits to allowing others to sell it. Asking because for my first product I am looking to do a listing that’s public so that I don’t have to deal with creating my own product at such an immature stage. What do you think about this?
