Huawei Watch 3 Review | Active Model | One Month Later

Reviewing the Huawei Watch 3 Active model, more affordable than the Pro and Classic with many of the best features, one month after unboxing it. My favourite smartwatch from Huawei in 2021 is still the GT 2 Pro, as the battery life here is much shorter and the app store is still immature. However, give it time and HarmonyOS may be bolstered by a great apps gallery - hopefully to prove a rival to Google and Samsung's One UI OS.

The design of the Huawei Watch 3 is certainly premium, even in this Active version. You've got a crisp and colourful OLED screen with a huge watch face selection and Always On Display support. That Harmony OS UI is easy to get to grips with and similar to older smartwatches like the GT 2 Pro, with all the usual tools. You even get a skin temperature sensor, plus over 100 exercises supported in the fitness tracking.

I got the Huawei watch 3 for just £149 in Argos. It's been brilliant. Lasted 5 days on a full charge. Coming from Apple phone and watch this is a treat and the UI is beautiful. Thoroughly enjoying my watch.

Thanks Chris... Comprehensive as always. I went with the active model that came with the earbuds 4i, plus I picked up a second hockey Puck charger from amazon to use in work. As long as it looks good and tracks my work outs and has a battery saving mode I'm happy. Will give an update in a few weeks regarding my thoughts on it.

Chris, brilliant review and love the humour in delivery ;) Chris, are you still using the Huawei 3 and if so, have you tried Stocard for NFC payment in the UK or, any other NFC payments (Curve?). I'm deliberating between this and the Ticwatch Pro 3 though the display looks better on the Watch 3 and better water protection oh and a compass which the Ticwatch doesn't have ... any more. Please keep the reviews coming :)

Hello from California and thanks for your review of the GT3. Based on your video, I ordered the watch thru ebay as they are not available thru distribution in the USA.

I currently have the GT2e and love it for the battery life... I'm a little bummed I need to charge the new GT3 every night per your review but still not a game changer for me not wanting it.

Sleep tracking was bang-on for me, like on the minute accurate. So as long as you don't just look at the ceiling in the bed awake it should work as expected
