Female Crash Test Dummy 5th Percentile #ancapsafety

Meet a few more of our family members. This time, our Hybrid III female dummies.

ANCAP uses two 5th percentile female dummies in every one of our full width frontal crash tests. They're positioned as the driver and the rear passenger.

By including these smaller, lighter dummies, the test aims to optimise vehicle safety systems like airbags and seatbelts for smaller occupants. Testing with these dummies caters for differences in seating and seatbelt positioning compared with that of mid-sized male dummies.
