Originally slated as our “June Premium Map Surprise,” we’re bringing it forward–Astraeos will now launch on February 13th for $14.99 as a full-fledged and fully-supported DLC, instead of a Premium Mod!

This stunning -264km² map will be available on all platforms and fully integrated into the main clusters with official servers, making it a seamless addition to your ARK worlds.

But the tale of Astraeos doesn’t end at launch. Like myths of old, it will grow over time as Nekatus continues to shape the world, adding new realms, updates and challenges worthy of the gods.

I think he has a proven track record and will complete the map. I played Svartalfheim before it was finished and he didn't disappoint. His maps are by far my favorite in the game

Performance on this map had been so much better than the rest of ASA. Yes there’s mesh holes but not as many as Abberation and Extinction. I’ve lost whole gangs of tames to the mesh holes in Extinction. Never to be seen again. Alive but unable to see their tracker, or found ever be found. Scorched Earth has so many drops that disappear into the mesh. Abb too. In Extinction… Can’t finish an Osd or Element vein since half the enemies get under the mesh. Cant kill them but they can attack the OSDs and Element veins. Heck I spawn UNDER THE MAP half the time in Extinction.
None of these problems on Astraeos.

I play on ps5 official servers and it has been the smoothest map so far. Yeah there is lag. It definitely has had its hiccups but I've only disconnected once. It's only the first week but I hope it continues to run smoothly. I play on pve servers so I expect it to become more laggy when people build up a lot more.

map size DOESNT MATTER, AT ALL. content does. it could be 50 times the size of the island, if it literally has no content on it, it doesnt matter.

It's already so huge it feels like a full map already. Adding the other 65?% is going to be insane. It has different colored rocks in some areas, the northern section which looks like slate is really purty.

New Realsm sounds like the system that was in Fjordur with Asgard etc, and makes sense for this map if there was like an Olympus sub-map

before i even finish watching the video, i’ll just say i’ve been thoroughly enjoying the map. i think its gorgeous, and i love the breathe of fresh air. it’ll be my main map by the end of the year no doubt. & i don’t mind paying, just like any other game. if this is the type of content we get for a couple bucks - im happy to swipe my card. i’m impressed even thus far.
anyway, just my 2 cents, thanks for always staying on top of the info for us 🤍.

Nekatus is incredibly talented and if this were just a mod that was being developed I'd be all hype. But what I see is Ark devs hoping their players continue to be complacent with unfinished work and financially piggy backing off 3rd parties. There's no reason ark survival ascended should be in this low quality and low expectations state. Devs need to own up to all their goofs and course correct or let a better managed company give this idea a go.

In my opinion this price is not a bad thing what i would say would make it an even better deal is if they put in a time the map needed to be completed by and if not a partial reimbursement to all players that purchased the Dlc with in the month of Feb and a decreasing amount for the months there after.

Honestly dom I'll still watch your videos as they're good. But as what was a fan of 10 years of ark and defended them often on social media I've uninstalled the game. Sent the devs and ark nothing but hate messages on twitter just now as whatever they broke in last 24hrs has broken my soul. Raised a rex baby on astreos for 1 and half days went to work 6am our time for 12hr shift come back to cryod dinos gone. They really broken my trust now. People got to stop trusting them and lose their player base.

The map as it is imo is brilliant, i love the themes (as someone who has played AC Odyssey more times than i can count), i’m loving the map and the Astraeos mods too! Building my own lil greek town in the cherry grove area around the water falls. I love the Maeguana, and i took my Tsuo swimming earlier, found a gigantic set of doors with two statues of poseidon either side, absolutely bodied a 150 alpha tuso! The map i think is brilliant.

It’s a bit of a swiz charging for an uncompleted map but i doubt he’ll leave it incomplete, i’m looking forward to seeing how he builds upon it 😊

I won't support the map until it's done. There is no guarantee the map will be completed. The modder may have a proven record but anyone can change. Now, if I could pay 35% of the price, I would be fine with that.
