The DCI Three-Peat Champion You Might Not Know About

Winning three straight DCI championship titles; a remarkable and rare feat that many will cite from the Garfield Cadets in the 1980s or The Cavaliers in the 2000s. But the very first three-peat in DCI history? That record is owned by the women of Hicksville, New York’s St. Ignatius Girls, who dominated Drum Corps International’s "All-Girl” division between 1975 and 1977.

Congrats, ladies! Not even the Blue Devils can claim the 3-peat champion title!

Update: They did it…

I was in the Greece Cadets. The 75 Class A champs. Right there next to you on the field with you.
Yep. It's a lifetime memory.

Loved watching them when my corps competed against them in the Garden State Circuit in the 70’s

Congrats about such an amazing feat! Out of curiosity, how does DCI define a 3-peat? For example, if 1976 had been a non-competitive season in which no scores or winners were declared, would they be considered a 3-peat winner if they'd gone on to take the champ in 1978? inquiring minds want to know
