The show features an all-star cast that includes David Corenswet, Darren Criss, Laura Harrier, Joe Mantello, Dylan McDermott, Jake Picking, Jeremy Pope, Holland Taylor, Samara Weaving, Jim Parsons, and Patti LuPone.

Love your review! I enjoyed the series Hollywood very much. They did such a good job with the feel of old Hollywood with the costume makeup and music. The what if scenario was very interesting. It’s just such a shame how the treated people because of who they were back then. The guy who from Big Bang theory has such an amazing transformation! I couldn’t believe the things that came out his mouth! Glad I checked it out. As a black woman I enjoy the Aesthetics of that era but of course hate the prejudices so watching this was like a dream come true😍

Hattie McDaniel won an 'best supporting actress' oscar for her role in Gone With The Wind in 1939, but that was it for black actresses until the '90s (Whoopie Goldberg for Ghost) I think.

My biggest problem with this is Rock Hudson. I thought it was extremely insulting how they just completely discounted the career he DID build and DID accomplish. Yeah, I'm sure he would have preferred to have been living in a better world (wouldn't we all?) but he managed to have a great career and was a huge success. This dismisses it all, which is pretty disrespectful. He did what he did despite the crap of the 1950s stereotypes. How dare Ryan Murphy discount that?

Actually... the male prostitution ring at the gas station, is from a recent tell all, ‘Scotty and the Secret History of Hollywood’.
Murphy is great, but he does take from history and real people and puts his own spin on it... which has a cool result. Just sayin his story lines are nothing fresh from his mind.
