Did you know the famous UFC Octagon was inspired by Chuck Norris? Let me explain. UFC events were the first to feature an eight-sided competition configuration which has become known worldwide as the UFC Octagon. In 1993, before the first UFC event, Jason Cusson came up with the design of the Octagon cage as well as the fighting surface. They wanted the fighting domain to resemble a street fight with specific mats for fast and non-slippery combat. Jason has publicly stated that his inspiration was from the 1980's film, The Octagon, starring Chuck Norris.
