I’ve seen a lot of stories like these recently. The thunder storms where I live have been so aggressive recently. My condolences to the family.

Does anyone else think it's bizarre that there have been 5 lightning deaths in the past two weeks? Something clearly is happening with the climate.

A horrible tragedy. Sending strength to the community and comfort to the family. I am reading this in the car pickup line in Florida with an overcast. I remember the electric company coming to the school and telling us what to do in case of lightening strikes especially if we were in a car or like under a light pole. They explained things like downed live lines as well.

I had never heard of so many people being killed by lightning in the U.S. like this year.

Condolences to the family. However, I don't know how many times we in the EMS and medical field have say this, but Thunderstorm. That is a great way to be struck by lightning. Stand under a building awning or get back in your car if you are in a thunderstorm. Either way, stand 100% away from trees in a thunderstorm.

This is why we should all stop the hate because no one knows when where or how things will happen

No words. I just feel this child will be taken care of. Sounds like a community that should be in every acre of America. God Bless them all.

My sister moved to Florida years ago. She asked me do you know what we call people with umbrellas? Her answer was tourist's. I was always told that lightning never strikes twice. While in Florida I saw a lightning bolt light up 4 times in the same pattern! So sad this happened. Lightning is unpredictable. The best thing to do is remain in your car or a building. Open fields are as dangerous as being under a tree. Umbrellas act like lightning rods.

On friday in Texas during pick up lightning struck in parking lot and set off alarms in cars thankfully no one was hurt. But seeing this now makes me so worried. Just saw another one few months ago where woman was walking with her 2 puppies and they all died. No trees around.

My house got struck by lightening on the 7th of August. Thank God no one was hurt, but we definitely felt it. I shorted out my house lights, computer motem, and my thermostat. My son said he felt it in his heart, I felt it in my legs, and my daughter's hands were shaking. The dogs went nuts. Now every time it rains, I get nervous. Dealing the home insurance is a nightmare too. Praying for this little boy!

my dad was born in florida and he said this was one of the worst lightening storm he’s ever seen- that storm was something else - i feel so terrible for this family may they find some peace soon- we all need to be aware that lightening has gotten way more dangerous this year.
