Climate Change in the Classroom - Meet Sarah

Показать описание
For teachers, climate change is increasingly becoming part of the school curriculum. Sarah is a middle school science teacher in Dalton, Georgia, who teaches her students about the physics of climate change. Her students are anxious about climate change, since they know it will impact their lives. What can students do about climate change? They can talk to their families and let them know that it’s important to work on climate solutions.
Sarah’s also a mom. She wants her kids to have the advantages she had growing up. She knows that burning fossil fuels are causing harm, and that America needs to transition to clean energy. Sarah volunteers with Citizens’ Climate Lobby in Georgia, where she works to build support with her members of Congress for a climate solution called the Energy Innovation Act.
What keeps Sarah working on climate solutions? “Climate change is hard to look at. I’m not interested in turning away. I will look at this in the eye, and say ‘We can fix this.’”
