One thing I really enjoyed about this video was the part where they showed how the lights were designed, as well as the scene in the factory. It was really interesting to see where the lights were stored and designed, as well as the process of getting them from the storage to the stage so the light designers can use them. All the technology they use is fascinating.

Man, those moving lights look amazing. I do lighting design at the only community theatre in a small town in California, and we have 26 fresnels from the 1950s, 6 lekos, and 6 par cans. It's a DMX-512 dimming setup, and we only have 40 circuits to use. Although it is a hell of a challenge trying to add nuance and subtlety to a stage that's 24 feet wide and 16 feet deep (with a ceiling that's 20 feet above the stage, hanging the lights from the trusses, and a lack of stage wings), I deal with the limitations and make it work. I love lighting design, and although it's not what I want to do as a career (I'm 19, going to college for a degree in film production), I want to do it as much as I can, even if it's unpaid volunteer work like I'm doing now

Does anyone know the name for the time when the two spotlights dance around each other on the curtains when they are closed?

I love lighting design it's ashamed that the lighting company has patents for their products. There's no way for a person to create a business due to monopoly. Anyways lighting design is critical to theatre it gives life to the set.
