I have had mine, Model RPAC08EE since 2016. It's been a quality machine. My only complaint is how loud it has been since we've purchased it. Today (6/13/2020) was the first cleaning and general maintenance I've had to do, which took less than an hour from start to finish. Use a lint brush or the lint attachment for your vaccum to clean the grate on the lower intake panel.

Hi I'm aeon, and this is a hated air conditioner

Not as bad as everyone says it is. It's better than nothing, good to use for temporary relief until you can get your A/C system fixed. In a small room, it would be very effective.

I have had my ac for four years and living in Riverside, Ca the summers can be Hell, this unit did the job for my single wide living room versus a swamp cooler especially with humidity!! the noise was not that bad an oscillating fan is just as loud. Otherwise I have had no problems.

It's been working for 6 weeks now -- in 98 degree Houston weather -- with a max 20 degree cooling effect. I did seal-off the small utility room it's in -- so it works a 'lil harder to suck-in outside air. That may shorten it's life -- but it's getting me thru a hellish Houston summer (I will buy a dual-hose unit if this one craters...)

Hmm Mine works great, too well. it does help the have the space under the door to the room covered! I live in San Diego so it does drain gallons of water a day, higher humidity here. It was all I could afford at the time. If there are quieter ones out there for the same price let me know. I bought it for $280 a Lowes.
