I watched his interview for this and he actually said that he hoped they wouldn't take the kiss out of the script, as it would make the audience uncomfortable as intended. As far as Octavia, she felt really weird about it too, heck they both felt odd about it, so she told him to be the one to move his lips while she kept her mouth shut. So, yes, they did kiss on the lips, but he did pretty much all of the work, per request of Octavia. So yeah lol. I find this scene disturbing, but knowing both actor and actress were on the same page, makes it a little less uncomfortable.

30 years ago this scene would be such a taboo. Not racially, but in terms of age difference. But now today, these kinds of love scenes are shockingly normal despite how old actors are.

This scene was surprisingly hot. Yet they didn't explain why it happened...Did he initiate the kiss to distract her to escape, was he too high or drunk, or did he actually feel for her and him being drunk made him spill out the truth. This scene isn't accounted for...

There's one thing I can confirm from the movie, is the fact he didn't detest the idea of an older woman liking him.
