I miss those sights and sounds. I was a boom operator on the KC-10, almost identical. Good times.

I enjoy these videos and I too will miss the DC 10 okay MD 11 but I flew for the first time in 1977 and it was a L1011 which I loved from that day on and I flew on several types my dad was in Anaheim CA and I was upstate NY so I'd visit took a few flights to Florida too and once to the Bahama's but I flew on many types first was the L-1011 then a 747 then an old 707 with Capital air (that was my first and only goaround and it was dramatic, we were a couple of feet from the ground at JFK the calm pilot said there was a plane that did not clear the runway. To Florida is was MD 80 DC 9's and one short hop was from Philly to Stewart in Newburgh and it was a "shorts" prop job. Today I am kinda claustrophobic and do not think i can sit in a plane that long without getting severe anxiety-this stinks because i loved to fly-maybe if I get my own 737 which I left off the list and just remembered I liked that flight a lot from JFK to Tampa Jet blue

HAHAHA 7:25 the Pilot says while looking at the landing road: "könnte passen ne?"
means: could fit aren't it?
LOL

Wow, I thought that the landing was rough, but upon taking a second look, it is the runway which is very rough and uneven. I've seen this pilot before and he always lands very smooth, so it's the runway that made it look like a hard landing.

If you notice, the plane was bouncing up and down all the way down the runway quite hard.

I have always wondered....
What is it like in one of those things?

Is that the similar to the DC 10? I always liked the safety aspect of a third engine. I love jets and props, heck I just love to fly. Used to go to Florida on Southeast out of Stewart Airport but they went bellyup. Flew Capital air as well to LA

How I love and miss this plane. And to know I'll never fly on one, grrr. Wish I knew a FedEx or other carrier that still flies the MD-11. Would beg them to deadhead flight(s).... Dream on!
