Love this band. Incredible falsettos. Chills whenever I hear them. Thanks to my dad for the love of this and other 60s-70s bands/artists.

The Bee Gees loved the Stylistics I've had Berry mention them before as an influence.

When I first heard this song, I was going to Basic Training in the Army. I was leaving everything behind and didn't know if I would pass this way again, and then Russell Thompkins tore me up with his amazing falsetto voice. Ya'll I thought I was hearing an angel. The greatest falsetto of all time. Of course I made it back or I wouldn't write this down. I'm an old man, but I still have a young heart. But in the end time has it's way with all of us. God bless ya'll. This is your boy from Tennessee! Much appreciated MrsPenPal. God bless. Peace!

Great song! The Stylistics are an American Philadelphia soul group from the 70's. They had a lot of great hits such as "Stop, Look, Listen", "You Are Everything", "I'm Stone In Love With You", "People Make The World Go Round", "You Make Me Feel Brand New", "Rockin' Roll Baby", "You'll Never Get To Heaven (If You Break My Heart)" etc.

Listen to The Bee Gees if you haven’t already. They are another amazing band from a similar time as stylistics.

Here in Chile, two songs are very well known or are they the ones that I know: "You Are Everything" and "You make Me Feel Brand New", high-flying R&B, greetings Bless❤

The Stylistics were a terrific group and MrsPenPal, glad that you had a chance to react to this 70s R&B classic! I would also recommend "Stone In Love With You" too by them.

Great group . They had many good sings in the 60's & 70's. Phyllis Hyman does a cover of this & her version is very beautiful too.

Nice reaction. I just wish we could have a picture with Russ on though. None of those guys actually sang on this song.

Did they know The BeeGees? This is Philly soul. This is the sound The BeeGees copied to get their sound. Listen to "You Make Me Feel Brand New" by The Stylistics next. Al of the words and phrases "Betcha", "By Golly", and "Wow" are common old phrases in American English.

Fyi, when they recorded this song they were a lot younger than in that picture. It came out in the early 70s in that picture is much later. But anyway, thank you for your beautiful reaction to this timeless classic! If you’d like to hear a song that is equal to this in my opinion, another one by them, check out “You are Everything“.
