Hold Me Fast (Psalm 139) [Official Lyric Video]
Показать описание
Aaron Shust’s new song "Hold Me Fast (Psalm 139)" is one of 10 Psalms on his 10th full-length album entitled Heaven + Earth.
STORY BEHIND THE SONG
King David may have been the author, but this Psalm always reminded me of Jonah in the belly of the great fish..."if I make my bed in the depths of the sea, You are there..."
David knew from childhood on that God was WITH him. From the fields at night, tending his father's flock of sheep while predators lurked in the shadows, to playing music for a demon-possessed King, David felt God's presence with him. From defiantly standing up to Goliath, to his days hiding in the desert for his life, David knew the God of Israel had never left him. The intimate and even mundane details of his day were never unknown to the LORD.
This fact brought David great comfort. The Creator of the stars wove us together in our mother's womb. David's response to this was PRAISE.

LYRICS:
VERSE 1
You search me and know me
You know when I sit and when I rise
Before a word is on my tongue
You know it completely
VERSE 2
You’re familiar with my going up and lying down
All my ways
Where can I go from Your Spirit
Or flee from Your presence?
CHORUS
If I go to the heavens
You are there
If I make my bed in the depths of the sea
You are there
If I rise on the wings of the dawn
If I settle on distant shores
Even there Your hand will guide me
Even there Your right hand will hold me fast
VERSE 3
Created and woven together In my mother’s womb
I’ll praise You for I’ve been made
Fearfully and wonderfully
BRIDGE
How precious to me are Your thoughts
How vast the sum of them
If I were to count them
They’d number far more than the sand
How precious to me are Your thoughts
How vast the sum of them
Far too great for me to ever understand
VERSE 4
So search me search me O God
And know my heart
Try me and know my thoughts
See if there be in me
Any wicked way
Then lead me down the road everlasting
