GRIFFITH'S EXPERIMENT | Biology Lecture 4

Frederick Griffith in 1928 performed a series of experiments on Streptococcus pneumoniae [ bacterium responsible for pneumonia], suggesting that bacteria are capable of transferring genetic information through a process known as 'Transformation'.
Griffith called this genetic information as 'TRANSFORMING PRINCIPLE'. However,the biochemical nature of the genetic material/ transforming principle was not defined from his experiments.
