From Caspian Sea in the north to Persian Sea in the south, the beauty of Iran is endless. Passing through its amazing buildings and Persian architecture, Isfahan has earned the epithet of the City of Turquoise Domes. Naqsh-e Jahan Square is surrounded by Jame Abbasi Mosque, Lotfollah Mosque, and Ali-Qapu Palace and each of these palaces take hours to describe its beauty in words. Isfahan also has many historical buildings, monuments, paintings and artifacts. The fame of Isfahan led to the Persian pun and proverb "Esfahān nesf-e- jahān ast": Isfahan is half of the world. The Safavid period (1502-1736) was particularly decisive for shaping the city, whose beauty was so great that world travelers purportedly dubbed it "Half the World," which, according to the proud 17th-century historian Iskandar Munshi, was because "they only describe half of Isfahan." The city is an amazing place for all tourists and its architecture and beauty is unique.
