When we first sailed to Grenada for hurricane season, there were a couple things on our list that we were most looking forward to. In this video we tick BOTH off the list! (Though we would repeat both later on in our stay). Grenada is famous for waterfalls and we finally made it to our first one, Mount Carmel....and it does NOT disappoint. Second is the worldwide sport of HASHING! This involves assembling in a random and new location every week, running through the mountains and jungle on a freshly made path, and drinking beer afterwards. Big emphasis on the beer. Lol. Awe, what a boo boo you have there Rivers. Tiger would have said bad pool, bad pool for that one. Oh no no no, not out of my shoe! Rivers found him a little lady. The waterfall scenes with the family swimming were great. That Rivers close up, he's got such big bright eyes to see the great world you guys are showing him. Nothing better the AC when your sweating. Take care and see you next time.

Back in the late 80's and early 90's, there was a weekly Hash event on the island of Saipan. I was an engineering officer aboard a "Maritime Pre-positioning Ship" that moved between Guam & Saipan. We'd generally hang on the hook for a couple of weeks in Saipan and a liberty launch would bring us ashore. I only got to participate in a couple of Hash events because I usually had to stand an engine room watch during the Hash events, but they were great fun. Other ship's officers and crew used to take part if they didn't have to stay aboard and stand watch. Hashers always gathered and started the event at the local Tiki bar on the beach just outside the port. Thanks for bringing back some great memories!
