I grew up in Chipinga in the 1970's and can relate to your stories of events there. I have published many books on Rhodesia/Zimbabwe including Chipinga/e. Its a place I cant forget. Thanks.

Great interview Hannes and Joe. About time our TF brothers received a look-in. Outstanding operators and, personally speaking, very highly regarded. Truly enjoyed listening to Joe.

I like watching the beginnings of these clips with the old photos of Rhodesia and her fighting forces ( wish Rhodesia was still about not what it turned into would move there in a heartbeat ) Rhodesians never die

A great interview- only just come upon it though it seems at least a year old already!
Good Onya Joe what a great recollection and so well told with humour - especially the bunking radio duty to go back for your wedding!😂

Thanks once again to Hannes and John for this FMOR series - very special.👍

These episodes can’t get any better and yet they do. The humbleness of each interviewee serves as a lesson to all of us.

A great story Joe and lovely to hear from a territorial operator. I think I am correct in saying that the 4RR trackers were responsible for the single biggest kill out of all TF battalions which I read about in Peter Petter-Bowyers book, 'Winds of destruction'. Just a note at 28:11 minutes into the talk the guys collected from Nyanga would have been 3 Indep as that was their base, unless 5 Indep were also there on the date of the contact. Well done Hannes.

Huge respect Joe. My first boss when I came out the army and a memorable near death effort to canoe the Orange river.
