Honestly I wish that they would bring it back as a setting. I absolutely love the nostalgia of this channel. Just remembering all of these old iPhones and iPods. Keep up the great work!

I remember getting my iPhone 5 back out and just sliding it. I don't know why but I found it so fun! I was not in my best mood when the slide to unlock went when I updated one of my iPhone fives. Keep up the great videos though! I love your videos and your a great video creator.

I miss the whole iOS 6 experience. Skeuomorphic design was the peak of UI

At least, it’s back, you slide up to unlock

I can guarantee there are more people who miss “slide-to-unlock” more than people who use today-view.

I remember I didn’t like press to unlock and I stuck my old 6S on iOS 9.3.3 for a year until having to update to 10. Even though I got used to it later I still miss the old days of slide to unlock.

We slide “up” to unlock on newer iPhones

I still use a 5th gen iPod touch on iOS 9.3.5 and there is nothing better than that welcoming slide and then to u are greeted with your Home Screen

They could actually return it because of new widgets and perhaps lockscreen update, the today feature will become redundant. Instead for easier adding and removing lockscreen widgets they will use slide up from the bottom and home button press and a translucent widget menu would appear, taking up half or less of the screen. It would be easier to use then constantly swiping left and right. On older iPhones the old camera grabber and new flashlight grabber would be used and buttons on new phones. Then you would have to slide to unlock the device

I don't miss slide to unlock just because of nostalgia, it also genuinely served a good purpose. I often leave my phone in my pocket with my hand in it then I take it out to see I did a crap ton of things on it without realizing. Slide to unlock added a layer of protection on that by making it so you had to make a deliberate swiping gesture on a small part of the screen to open the phone.

I don‘t have a IPhone on iOS 9 but I have a iPhone 5s on iOS 8.1.1 (non jailbroken)

I still have my old iPad 3rd gen and it can only run iOS 9 as the highest version. It has slide to unlock!

I used on my original iPhone SE combination of both raise to wake AND touch to unlock (not click) and it worked just as smooth as Face ID. So whenever I picked up a phone just making sure I’m grabbing it in a way that my thumb is located on Touch ID, it let me right in with no click. In my opinion those functions should both be on by default. Everything is smoother and more seamless then.

Slide to unlock is a pretty OG iOS feature! I love how it looks on iOS 7, iOS 8 and iOS 9! I personally am not a fan of skew morphism because I think it's too heavy but the iOS 9 version is epic. I like how the slide to unlock 'bar' was gone and it was replaced with plain and elegant text. Personally I don't like press home to unlock, feels weird but I haven't ever used an iPhone so what do I know! The iPhone X series, iPhone 11 series, iPhone 12 series as well as the iPhone 13 series figured out something BRILLIANT. I love the animation, it's like a rippled zoom out thing which is smooth. I wish Samsung could make something that fluid!

Great video. I personally like the new way to unlock my phone, swiping up, don’t use Face ID, but it is definitely nostalgic

I feel like another reason they let the slide to unlock feature go is because the iPhone was getting much bigger, and sliding across with one hand was becoming really tedious. I miss it on the original iPhones but I think I much prefer swiping up on an iPhone 12!

You don't have to press home button twice if you have Touch ID...
