Where Exactly Are the Districts? (Hunger Games)

If you've read or watched the Hunger Games, you've probably wondered this yourself too. Here is a quick video to catch you up on some lore before seeing the final movie.

I don't think the 13 location is accurate because in the second book, Katniss wonders where the two ladies from 8 are going past 12 because "there's nothing else's past 12, unless you count the still smoking ruins of 13"

If you look at the Hungers Games game, the map shows that some districts are in the wrong spots. Somewhere in the book it says district 4 is present day Louisiana. So technically this could be wrong, but no one truly knows where all the districts are ( except for the obvious ones like 11, 12, and 13) Cause the game is not made by the author of Hunger games

Hunger games reminds me a lot of a book I read about 25 years ago - "The Iron Heel" by Jack London, published in 1908 (exactly 100 years before these books). Same underlying theme of an oppressive government that holds up in a fortress city and grows fat off exploited sweat labor. Same backstory of failed revolutions, pitting varying segments of the working class against each other, and so on. Wonder if Suzanne Collins read it?

To be honest, I kind of think that District 6 would be located closer to Detroit, Michigan, due to pre existing machinery to produce vehicles.

Correction: The capitol is in Modern-Day Salt lake city. Taking up most of the 26 mile long valley.
