Larry the cat’s testy relationship with other animals

Larry, the Downing Street cat, was filmed yesterday chasing a fox away from the prime minister’s residence. The mouser in chief, a title he has held since 2011, Larry has developed a territorial streak, developing testy relationships with animals who have wandered onto his turf over the years.

From the unfortunate pigeon which he attempted to make a meal out of, to Palmerston, the Foreign Office cat and his nemesis, we look back at how Larry has behaved around fellow animals.

Raven, my cat who passed away a year and a half ago now, was almost identical to Larry even up to the heart shape on his right side. Raven also had a tussle with a neighborhood fox one night. My mother had heard Raven hissing and a commotion happening on our deck. she called up to me and I raced down thinking the end had come for Raven. I opened the door and he bolted inside. There wasn't a mark on him. When I checked the deck I found multiple clump of orange/red hair and a pile of feces on the deck. Needles to say the fox never tried Rav again and give me my cat for protection from any animal in the wild. It will come out on top. Be well Larry. Love from America.
