As I listen to this I think of my father. He served 30 years in the US Navy serving from 1943 to 1973 aboard numerous ships. He is still with us at the age of 97. I love you Dad!

I showed this to my Grand dad 7 months ago. Never seen that man shed a tear until then. He passed away last month at the age of 101. He's the reason I joined the Navy when I was 18. I miss him greatly.

I was the captain of a sailing ship for five years, the Barque Lioness. When she went to the yard some years ago i knew she'd be the last square-rigger i'd command. Im 78 years old.
I hummed this tune when i walked away from her for the last time. Sad then. Sad now.

I imagine my grandfather would have loved this piece. He served in the Merchant Marine and Coast Guard in WW2. Sadly, I never got to meet him myself: he died about twenty years before I was born.

My father in law just passed on. He was a 26 year Master Chief. He treated me like the son he never had, and was a huge mentor for me in my navy career. Fair winds snd follow seas Dave.

I think this is one of the best tributes for Stan Roger’s, navy’s actively carrying on his legacy not only in his music, but also in his memory but in memoriam of all those sailors and ships who came before. I truly believe Stan would be filled with joy knowing how this song has impacted people all around the world.

It broke my father’s heart having to retire from the Navy. He’d look out over the ocean at Sunset Cliffs in San Diego and I always imagined he was thinking back to his Navy days. This song captures what my old man may have been feeling. At least it’s the closest I could imagine.

That bass voice is absolutely incredible. I know they're Navy but even so - respect, boys. Well done

Outstanding singing Sailors. Reminds me of my dad, served aboard the USS Black in the Pacific in WW2. We buried him in the Navy hat I gave him 5 years before and almost never took off. Fair winds and following seas mates!

I once had a music instructor who said that the greatest musical instrument ever created was the human voice. Thank you for proving her right once again!

I'm U. S. Coast Guard retired and this gives me goosebumps. I served on three large Coast Guard cutters in my 29 year career. A wonderful rendition.

I almost went Navy like my late grandfather when I served. Wish I had and would I had been a vocal musician with the opportunity to sing with such talented patriots! Sound is amazing! The timbre and melancholy feel really get one in the feels.
