I am in the process of making some more! The next two ExplainingComputers videos will be on graphics cards and display connectors, and will upload in a couple of weeks. Before that I'll be uploading new videos to my ExplainingTheFuture channel even sooner! :)

I love all your videos, I have learned a great deal about 3D printers. Thank you so much for doing the research for us !!!!

This was exactly what I was looking for. A good overview of 3d modeling programs for 3d printing! you should do a similar review for slicers!

I think developments in 3D printing will drive a lot of work in 2D-3D image conversion (and also developments where 2D image data is combined with laser scans and lidar/radar). Their is already a race on to produce cheap 3D scanners and "cameras" that capture 3D scans (several projects on Kickstarter). I am planning on doing a video linked to this area soon -- esp. looking at what can already be achieved with things like 123D Catch. Good Luck with your career plans! :)

32 v. 64 bit has been on my list for some time! :) I'll hopefully get around to it in the next few months (though there are lots of videos I want to make!).

We were impressed by the video, looking forward to the next. We are a small 3D modeling software startup completely bootstrapped and tooks us 5 years to develop our real-time collaborative CAD.? Would be great if you had time to check our software SolidFace.

Great mock-up resume at 5:52, especially the "Education: Certificate in Anger Management Management (renewed): A+"

It is good to know the largest 3D printer manufacturer 3D systems having their own
CAD Cubify Invent for easy use with their Cube Printer !

They are complex! :) But I don't think 3D printing will felp to prevent/cure starvation. I'm working on a video (for my ExplainingTheFuture) channel on this very issue. Hopefully for July 2013. :)

Thanks for the info! One of these days I'll actually buy a 3D printer. I'm considering the Peachy Printer for $100. Crazy low price.

I think that the only way to solve this issue to the get more people to be aware of it. Which is a great video idea for that channel. I hope to see it soon :D I will subscribe to that channel.

would you ever recommend fusion 360 for a student, and under what circumstances would / wouldn't you recommend it?

Any information out there on conversion programs? I would hate to have to re-purchase another Autodesk software package just to convert DWG to STL files. I also am concerned about proprietary information being leaked onto the cloud which is why I'm concerned about using a 3D service to have my model(s) printed or developed.
