stabilizing that on a helicopter is insane

Gotta be a pretty powerful magnifying lense to pick up Saturn's rings to this quality!

If you haven't seen Saturn's rings with your own eyes through a telescope before, please...please try to. It's one thing to look up at the stars and see a few, it's a other thing altogether the first time you zoom in just a little bit and you can actually see another planet and it's rings. I was an adult the first time I looked at it and the guy whose telescope I used got a real kick out of my reaction. Everyone needs a little shot of cosmic joy and wonder in their life, this is a pretty accessible one

And that planet is VERY far away. The fact the atmosphere and the right lens was capable of zooming and get a nice photo of Saturn is absolutely stunning.

It looks like it’s sort of close compared to the moon but nah, it’s away

Crazy that that sunlight traveled about 1.7 BILLION miles to reach that helicopter....

It's wild to think that even on that exact moment, that image was already about an hour old.

I remember seeing Saturn when my dad bought an expensive telescope for Hale Bopp. We maximized the lense and were able to see it and the rings. It was magnificent

I remember my uncle always said planets were all fake and one day i showed him Saturn through my little backyard telescope and he said the government already infected my telescope before i bought it 😂😂

Sure they can focus to see Saturn’s ring, but camera goes blurry when filming a UFO.

That’s an incredible shot! Saturn is my favorite planet because of it’s super cool rings but I’ve never gotten to see it before.

We’re looking at the rings side on right now which in my opinion is when it’s least impressive, around 2026 to 27, you’ll be able to see the rings in a nice angle again, and then by 2028 they’ll be really distinct for most of the next decade.

I used to cam op a news chopper in Tampa Bay area and I can confirm these cameras/lenses and stabilization capabilities are insane!
