y= mx + b is known as slope point form . If you need to find the intercept of both the axis use x/a + y/b = 1 where a is x-intercept and b is y-intercept. Note that y = mx + b can only be used in three ways: 1) In case of a single straight line. 2) when tangent to a parabola with its eccentricity as 1 . 3.) In case of a circle with its locus situated at (h, k) on the origin or (x+h, y+k) away from the origin by shifting of origin method. Slope can also be written in the form of tan(x) but with a modulus function . It was derived from the identity tan (x + y )

Hi Melissa,
Your video is amazing and very informative, I like it. I am a chemistry tutor myself, but I still can not be consistent with the giving instructions to how to answer "Interpret the graph above!!"
I make sure to tell the students summarize the information presented, and use the information to recognize trends and draw conclusions. But the instructions are too general !!
