I left Phoenix after 5 years and recently moved to Tucson. I love Tucson. I love being near the mountains. It's a beautiful retro city with a slower pace of life. Very affordable. I finally saw a Javalina near Dominoes pizza. It was so cute!!!

Tucson has a great feel of the Southwest, while Phoenix is just one giant Midwestern city plopped in the middle of the desert.

In 32 years of traveling and worked, I have lived and visited most cities all over the world. After that I picked Tucson Az. (Saddlebrooke) to live. I love it. :-)

Tucson hands down! I grew up in Phoenix but always came back to Tucson. It's the weather, the scenery, the whole vibe is more calm here in Tucson.

One of the biggest mistakes I’ve ever made in my life was leaving Tucson for the Phoenix area. 🥺

If you have unlimited resources, Tucson is much nicer. Period. Unfortunately, the working class there is paid miserably compared to the cost of living. If income from a job is important to you, it's no contest. You must live in Phoenix.

I made a trip to Arizona this summer and went back and forth between Phoenix and Tucson a few times. My observation is Tucson always had clear blue sky while Phoenix always had a hazy sky. The temperature in Tucson was noticeably lower. One afternoon, I was eating lunch outside in Tucson, drove to Phoenix right after, got out of the car, o.m.g... no way I would sit outside to eat lunch there.

Plus I first saw Tucson as a child in 1963 when my Mom and I stepped off a train from St Louis. And never stopped being in love with Tucson. I was blessed enough to have lived in Tucson for about 12 years

Phoenix if you want to live in a major city, Tucson if you want a more laidback town vibe, despite a core pop in excess of 500, 000.

Grew up in Tucson, from mid 1950's to 1969. Frequently went to Phoenix for events, whatever. Overall, Tucson has the most appeal for me; the local music scene, Artists like DeGrazia, the fabulous architecture, friends and family, and the overall culture which defines me as a person. Tucson is, was, and always will be my home.

Reasons to move to (or from) Phoenix:
1) 100 degrees in the summer just feels too cold.
2) Political zaniness is actually something the kids will enjoy learning.
3) You won't feel out of place as every house on the block looks exactly the same.
4) You need a car to cross the street.
5) Has a great Light Rail that also serves as low-income housing.

Reasons to move to (or from) Tucson:
1) Phoenix Envy... Size does matter.
2) Old Pueblo isn't just a nickname; it's a selling point.
3) The planned Crosstown freeway that never is and never will be.
4) Convenient hourly shuttle service to Phoenix Sky Harbor because no one from Tucson flies out of Tucson.
5) Desert Landscaping... you'll never have to worry about mowing your cactus.

Tucsonan here. Pretty accurate overall. I'd say the comments about age demographics are overstated. Also, in terms of water scarcity, Tucson's aquifers are in better health than most other parts of Arizona, and improving, but now we're having issues with wells poisoned by the air force base. I would also say that lack of highway infrastructure is less of an issue because Tucson is (somewhat) less sprawled than Phoenix.

I am in Oro Valley (North Tucson) and will never ever move. Love living here so much. Never enjoy going to Phoenix and don’t like their freeways. Love the hiking and desert in Tucson and it’s just a 30 minute drive up the mountain to be in snow. Thank you for your video. I enjoy watching them all 😊

It all depends on the individual, I was born in Tucson, I personally like living in Phoenix (2016) I like the pace it took me a while but I got used to it Phoenix is less restrictive when it comes to businesses & theirs alot more going on here with different events, (to each their own.)

Tucson.... Just because. Well actually Tucson is "cooler" in the summer than Phoenix because Phoenix is in a valley and more humid than Tucson is. (To me anyway). And while I do like both cities Phoenix traffic and drivers are whew "different". And I just always like Tucson better

I’ve lived in both-Tucson gets my vote! Especially near Oro💜

Great video. I was assigned to Davis-Montham AFB in the early 1990’s and absolutely loved the weather, the less frenetic pace of life, the cheaper cost of living and the good people. I returned to retire in 2007 in Oro Valley and have never regretted that decision. I occasionally visit Phoenix and realize how much I hate the traffic, higher temps and high costs of everything. Returning to the Old Pueblo is always a relief and comfort.

Excellent video, sir! I was hatched in Scottsdale (c. 1973), way back in the last century. I loved it.

Currently, I reside in the 85713 (Tucson, I-19 and W Ajo Way [approximate]). I love it!

I just REALLY love this great state, and I intend to have no other. 🤠

I love both cities, but I definitely prefer Tucson; it’s just the perfect size for me: plenty to do and see, lots of nature and arts, and it is (slightly) cooler in weather. Phoenix is definitely better for higher-paying jobs though!
