I just love how you choose one thing from your house to work on at a time. When i first saw your house tour i was overwhelmed for you and wondered how on earth you would renovate it all while living there but you make it look so fun.

I'm just not sure everyone can TRULY appreciate the work this takes unless you have reno-ed an old house yourself. The grit of disintegrated old foam carpet backing, the feeling of levering those flaking layers of flaminated floor cloverings, removing thousands of bent nails and staples, the smell of old wood when you cut it. You are doing a FANTASTIC JOB! I just love your house and the tale it tells. You are writing beautiful new chapters for it!!

My two cents as an art conservator in training : Blues can be very tricky to work with, blue pigments are prone to metamerism, which is basically when colors seem to match under one lighting condition, but look completely different under different lighting. So getting a good match to that picture would be tricky, as it might work well in the store, but not anymore once you get home !

And you should always wear a solvant proof mask when working with paintstripers. They can contain very dangerous chemicals (we avoid them at all cost in the studio because they're quite dangerous) and even with an open door, you're working right above where you apply the stripper, so you're right above the fumes and end up inhaling just as much solvant !

The amount of work and the attention to details you're putting into your house is admirable, it's always a pleasure to watch your videos !

Ariel! I adore the green you chose! It's so calming and regal. This feels like a room out of the Emma film!

I love that the Ariel neutral is to paint the whole room green. It looks so amazing, your style is so outside of my comfort zone and yet I am in love with every single room

Other people on YouTube: Yeah so, we painted the room white but the doors are a little bit of a different white.

Ariel: I´m gonna paint it all green!

Love your desition! Please keep going!

My favorite thing is that you’re not taking this glorious old house and trying to force it to look like a modern minimalist house. It’s so artistic and beautiful 😍 I just adore what you’ve done with it!

I love that that green and oh my god that hand rail is beautiful. The only thing i think i would of done differently is make the floor a dark wood like the hand rail. Just to balance it out. I can't wait to see what you do with the upstairs section though. :)

This came out so beautifully!

I'm renovating a 97 year old craftsman style home, and your videos have been a huge inspiration! I gush about these to my husband all the time. We actually just recently (as in two weeks ago) painted the hardwood in our living & dining room. I had a "safe" color all picked out (blue-grey), but once I was at the store picking out the exact shade, my husband just leaned towards me and whispered, "what if we did purple?" So now our living and dining room floors are lavender! It's amazing how much it feels like I'm a character in a story now, and I know it never would have happened without your influence, so thank you for taking the time to make these videos and share them

Hi! Looks grand! Amazing how the finish on the spindles matched the newl post perfectly. You are working so hard. Maybe it's time for a mini house tour of the rooms you've redone. Also, next time you need to strip paint, use EASY OFF NO FUME oven cleaner. It totally works!! No fumes, and works great.

When you were first sitting on the stairs I thought to myself “woah that post and hand rail are so beautiful.” Then you said you were going to keep them and I couldn’t help but feel giddy haha. It turned out so great! Seeing your green couch through the green doorway also brings me so much joy! This turned out amazing!

Renovating a staircase while it is in use. There should be an award for that. But then, you have the reward of a job well done. It's gorgeous. (Also truly appreciate your fearlessness with color!)

From a regular staircase into Stop-and-STAREcase. Beautiful job!

Can we talk about the way that the green the paint matches the green of your couch???? Stunning!!

I think the stairs would look amazing with a runner coming down, either cream or a maroon dark red color. Also I really wish the floor would have been stained to match the railing, but I have no idea the conditions of the flooring soooo love it all anyways and love how you're making this your dream home!

That banister and the “new” spindles look AMAZING! The whole time when you put the new spindles in I was thinking “please don’t paint them, please don’t paint them, please don’t paint them.” It looks so good! Thank you also for including that the colour is in reality more of a sage colour because in that footage it totally changes the feeling of the room. Beautiful colour. Your Father has such a soothing voice. Can’t wait to see more.

I just want to say! I've watched three or four of your reno videos today & I LOVE the delicate classical music behind your timelapse shots! There's just something about the juxtaposition of the hard work & the beautiful and whimsical music, like feminity and hard work are not dichotomous- if that makes sense hihi

I would've never made these design choices myself, but I love how all of the rooms have turned out so far! Gorgeous!
