Want some words of wisdom for dirt bike riding? You have to be confident when things are totally in your control so that you will take the chance when things aren't perfect. Think log crossings for example. If you don’t every practice them when the pressure isn’t on, you will never try to tackle them when you encounter them in the trail and conditions aren’t perfect. The same could be said with pretty much any situation we encounter when we are riding.

Look for opportunities to practice your skills each time you go out riding. Every time you do something under those confined practice sessions, it will make you more confident when they pop up unexpectedly while out on the trails. Gaining more confidence in your riding and skills is extremely rewarding. I talk about this in the video. Happy riding.

I remember outings with my boys at this age. Same bikes KTM 65 and KTM 50. Now they are all grown up. So glad we made those memories!!!! It's so worth the investment. You are doing it right!!! Love the channel. Might have to sell the 500 and pick up a 300 )

That is so cool. Way back when I was raising kids it was girls. 2 step daughters. I had a Harley but the only one interested in riding was my wife. Even when I bought my big Raptor the girls weren't interested in the desert. Too bad. The youngest in particular would have been excellent. She is fearless. But she had other ideas. So it is really nice to see your boys out with you. It won't be too long and they'll be waiting on you! Be safe and have fun.

I just bought my kids and myself some Yamaha TTRs for trail riding. My daughter got a TT-R50, my son a TT-R125 and I got a TT-R230. I plan on getting a 250 or 450 when my son is tall enough to take over my 230, and my daughter hopefully will be able to ride the 125. We have been going to a local school to practice riding, this is my daughters first time ever riding a bike (other than as a passenger), and this is my son's first bike with a clutch. We have been practicing all the basic skills to ride some trails. Next weekend I'm taking them to Capitol Forest and we are going to try out some of the easier ORV trails for the first time! I'm excited to see how they do, and I am also excited as I have not been trail riding since I was 18! ... That was back when Clinton was in office!!

You are not lieing about that on/off like switch when it comes to the power delivery of those bikes. I watch my four year old struggle on his mini trying to get power to the ground. I did switch over to the Dunlop MX33 (A soft to intermediate tire) and it seemed to help. We ride similar stuff you do in North Western Nevada. We have a CRF50 also but like you said in a previous video it's a great bike but the factory suspension is junk. It's funny that you mentioned "Can't wait till there on the 65s" I am in the same boat. You may have already done this but if not a walk around of the KTM 65SX would be a good video and maybe a maintenance video on the 50 and the 65 like air filter, spark plug, and gear box oil change. Keep up the great work.

Kyle, love your videos, geez there are so many amazing and helpful videos!! I’m curious how did you manage gas on far out trails on these little Ktm 50 bikes that don’t hold much? Do you just know once you hit a certain mileage out you gotta turn back knowing you’re at half tank? If so what’s you’re system? Thanks!!!

Nice work!! I know it’s not “cool” but I switched my daughter from one of those “on off” 50cc KTMs to a KLX110, for the same reason. (Issues with hills at low RPM.) Her riding has greatly improved after using a bike with a little power to give at any rpm range. Your boys might be getting close to an age where they would benefit from a slightly modded CRF 70, then on to a 110. Hahaha! Every dad has an opinion....

He's nice to his kids, my dad would have made me.pick my own bike up even if my leg was sprained and kick it or he's leave me there lol.

You should have the boys do some peewee harescrambles, it will help develop strength, endurance and “dirtbike fitness”... I stole that last one from you!!
