Apparently Mike Myers realized that the movie was originally intended for Chris Farley just by seeing the production maquettes.

Fun fact: American author, David Pilkey (the genius behind Captain Underpants) planned on making a live-action version of his most famous novel in the late 90's, and wanted Chris Farley to play the role of Mr. Krupp, the elementary school principal from the novel who is hypnotized and is turned into Captain Underpants.

Yes, it has been made public before. The cast/class of SNL that Farley comes from is the most unique and steadfast, can’t compare any other SNL cast/class to those folks. They have each other’s back or at least give a damn great impression of looking as if they do! Mike does excellent as Shrek and it’s even more beautiful seeing that they carried on for Farley. It’s not the only way or time that they have either. ✨💜✨
