Britain's Prince Philip, husband of Queen Elizabeth II, dies aged 99

Prince Philip, the husband of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, has died at the age of 99. He was the longest-serving royal consort in British history. Buckingham Palace has confirmed the Duke of Edinburgh passed away peacefully at Windsor Castle on April 9. Born into the Greek royal family, Prince Philip was a permanent presence at the Queen's side for more than seven decades. He's remembered for his early efforts to modernise the royal family's image, bringing the monarchy to life on television.
