The sheer strenght of the subject ripping apart the three with one arm alone speaks truth for me

I love that you detailed what food sources are likely available inside a dead swamp cypress. Most comments have said it might be honey bees but if it was then you would probably see them swarming in the video

Keep ‘em coming, this is the quality analysis that we need

I came here from Reddit, really good analysis on this famous skunk ape video. This is one of the rare few videos I’ve always felt was REAL, amongst a sea of fake ones. Paul Freeman’s video would be another good one to analyze if you are interested 😊

He said that everything slowed down. That is common in very sudden traumatizing situations, such as wrecks or being attacked.

As an avid outdoorsman that lives next door in Alabama, I can confidently put the prank part to rest. Anyone who knows a hunter or is a hunter would be too terrified or too stupid to try and pull of this prank. They know that there is a far better than average chance they would get their a** shot. For me this leaves only two possible explanations. Real or Hoax.

As a habitual primitive camper while I hunt, I have had to collect wood for fires my entire life. I know the sound that breaking wood makes in the forest. When that guy broke off the wood from inside that tree, my brain immediately took notice. That was the sound of a significant chunk of wood being ripped away from the trunk, and as you watch the subject make two efforts at it, it seems to confirm my thoughts. That is not an easy task to perform. All this is to say, that if it was some guy perpetrating a hoax, why risk a move like that. It would be difficult to do. It seems like it would be too risky to do this and possibly ruin the hoax.

As for the hunter talking about time slowing down, that is a very common thing when a hunter is faced with his prey, or in this case a possible skunk ape. It is the result of adrenalin flooding the system and causing a sort of hyper awareness and focus. That sounds authentic to me.

Now, it is not out of the realm of possibilities that this is a hoax. Being a naturist, if I were to plan a hoax of this type, I would want the subject to be performing a natural activity, as opposed to just wandering around in the woods waiting to be photographed. But to do it in a swamp, only capture such a limited amount of activity, cut and run before the co conspirator does anything to over expose himself as fake, just doesn't line up with a well planned hoax. I too think that this is plausible evidence.

15:00 You seem to be doing a much better body ratio analysis than OTHER YouTubers who have covered this video. That bent arm shot is very very good and right away it does not look normal for a human at all

Anyone familiar with cypress knows that it is virtually indestructible. The strength it would take to rip it apart at its trunk… its most resilient and strongest part… would take more than
The strength of one human in a costume

Legit looks like a fuckin silverback gorilla foraging in the tree stump until it stands up. Then it’s not a gorilla anymore

The supposed film maker Josh Highcliff is a character from a TV show that did not make it to production called Beasts of the Bayou and Richard Bozworth was to play Josh Highcliff and this video was a dramatization for the TV show

People imitating how they think an animal will behave naturally, generally comes off as such, because realife has so many infinite nuances that we unconsciously respond to that's very difficult to emulate intentionally with a precontrived act. This was natural behavior from a creature.

Nice analysis on one of the great videos out there, you should take a look at bigcountryjimboys Sasquatch video. Would love to see analysis on that

There is some other good discussion of the video that points to it being a hoax. The original poster "Josh Highcliff" never posted anything before or after this, and happens to be the name of a bigfoot hunter in a Discovery (?) Channel docudrama about a swamp monster. The costume and locale in the TV show are pretty similar to the purported video, and it is said that the actual filming site was not in the South either. I will admit it looks good, but digging into the back story does present some real questions. I am leaning toward a publicity stunt in conjunction with the tv special.

A full grown, dead cypress would be very large.

There is the sound of bees buzzing. It was ripping apart the tree to get at the honeycomb.

The guy in the suit is the hunters friend and I'm sure the checked the area and made sure there were no snakes and alligaters around, its a hoax !

Nice video, I always thought this piece of video 'Evidence' was pretty convincing out of all the potential evidence there is out there. It'd be interesting to see your thoughts on the "Marble Mountain Bigfoot" Video

Has anyone researched if Josh Highcliff is a real person from the area? He repeatedly asks for help, but has he ever responded to comments or made himself available? Why was he played by an actor named Richard Luis Bosworth in Beasts of the Bayou? That makes me think the video was marketing for the show.
