Best fragrance channel on YT. You’ve inspired my decisions on what direction I want to go with my perfume wardrobe. Thank you!

Pure class! The spearmint saves the day on this one. I’m waiting for the 1988 to come in because I loved that one too!! Try it out if you haven’t.

Hi Pep, I bought it as well, last year. 1962, not just soho, but also Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra. I think the lapel on the bottle shows her and Eddie Fisher, her husband at the time...or is it her lover and soon to be husband Richard Burton? That label makes the bottle!

1962 Soho London had a very large Italian community which consisted of barbershops, delicatassens, restaurants, bars/ coffee shops and sex shops.
Very much an integral part of the swinging sixties.
The hipsters of the days playground.
Nice review, Pep.
I've not tried it, but you made it sound appealing.
Buona giornata.

Great review Pep. Polo Green was my first favorite fragance 40 years ago. The current version is a shadow from the past. Tried the Italian Cypress some years ago and liked much more than the current Polo. Could not buy it because it was so expensive. Watching your video I am now convinced to go for the Floris. Best wishes from Mexico.

Thanks Pep,
I’ve been looking at his as I have a bottle of 89 and really like it, also a fan of the original Polo so time to pull the trigger I think !

I just bought this so I hope I like it. Ralph Lauren Polo Green is my favorite fragrance of all time so I'm hopeful.
And for everyone who likes this, you might want to consider Floris Elite. Elite is my favorite Floris. Its essentially a beautiful hybrid of Ralph Lauren Polo Green and Creed Bois du Portugal! That should say it all.

My absolute favorite fragrance. So glad I found it after Salvador Dali amended their "pour homme" formula.
When I spray it on, I feel like entering a clearing in a forest. Green notes of musk and grass mixed with woody notes and very carefully dosed floral scents. A magic mixture!

I love the sound of the notes in this one, particularly the mint, basil & mandarin. I had a sample of No.89 which I wore over summer and really enjoyed. I found it wore in a similar way to your experience with this one, in that I thought it had gone, but then I would pick up unexpected wafts occasionally. Floris is certainly a house I am curious to sample more of, plus I like the classic style to their look💚

I purchased this and No.89 at the same time, and although I was initially more attracted to the latter, I now prefer 1962. I think it is classic yet unusual and sits really well between the two. Like you say Pep, the dry down is the thing and I remember smelling it and thinking “woah, what happened there”!

Ah, 1962 London. I think of all the British Invasion bands who were still playing American Blues in the London clubs. I love listening to the bluesy debut albums by the Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, the Animals, etc. What a great year to inspire a perfume!

1962 is a persoanl favourite for me. Of all the Floris "Journals" scents it is the one that stands out. I absolutely agree about the opening melange of notes which are difficult to individually identify. I suspect this may be the impact of the clove sweetening what might otherwise be a quite aggressive and sharp opening. It is a male targeted scent, with something of the 80s powerhouse vibe, but it's no pastiche of fragrances. Instead, to me, it feels contemporary, very classy, near all-year-round wearable scent and my girlfriend loves it for not falling into that 2020s trap of being overly sweet and rather metro-sexual.

It is sad to say this fragrance has now been discontinued :(

They were filming in London in 1962, Liz got sick, then they resumed filming in Rome, I think.
