My stepdaughter is an aesthetician recently graduated from her beauty school. I have discovered how much stuff in the make up world can be applied to this hobby of mine. Like little tiny eye liner brushes that are all platic these are great for cleaning air brushes, she buys them in packs of a 100 so she always gives me 20 of them. Also for Christmas she got some new application brushes, so she threw out all her old brushes, well i have all of them in a box below the bench, the quailty of these brushes is amazing. Anyway whenever im in the pharmacy or big box retail stores i always go through the makeup section, ive got all kinds different grit sanding sticks, sponges, paper some are hobby specific while most are makeup related. Recently i also discovered medical grade tools like tweezers, cutters, etc., that are way cheaper than hobby specific tools. Its just amazing whats out there that can be repurposed to our hobby. Oh medical grade plastic squeeze bottles come in variouse sizes and shapes and are higher quality plastic than the hobby specific squeeze bottles.

Another great video folks!

I started using sanding pads for the majority of my parts cleanup a few years ago. I bulk purchase pads in 1000 and 1500 grits then cut strips off as needed (usually 1/4 to 3/8 inch wide) and use them wet and dry. Files are great for heavy cleanup, when needed, and the pads take care of the rest. I like the sanding sticks, but I tend to use the ends the most which makes them less effective. I can trim a new piece off of a pad quickly, and it is more cost effective than replacing a stick.

In the future, you might consider talking about glass files. They leave a very smooth finish and the removed plastic can be cleaned off by placing the file under running water. While the needle and rifler files still have their roles in my modeling, the glass files were a great addition.

kudos to Kotare to put the joints along panel lines - I would like to see more companies do that.

Aaron no mate, you don't want the Mustang, you want the Aussie Ford XB Coupe! Maybe with the Monza front if you're looking for that V8 Interceptor vibe.😂

Evergreen strip plastic with 220 and 400 grit sandpaper superglued on either side is a great way of getting into very narrow places. Depending on how much flexibility I need, I use .060" to .125" thick plastic, in 1/4 widths or narrower.

She pronounced Gemini correct. My father was an aerospace engineer and was familiar with the craft. That was the correct pronunciation.

My neighbor across the street was an engineer that actually worked on Gemini, Apollo and Space Shuttle projects essentially since the space program began. I asked him the proper pronunciation of Gemini, and he said Gemin eye

OK I admit it. I have bought way too many kits after deciding to get back into it and not even cracked one open! Stressing about every single step before I have even tried one.

But I do wonder, if you have to fill a seam and then sand it, or just sand a seam in general, you will inevitably go over into the unaffected portion, wouldn't that damage the surface of plastic - even if you are using a very fine sanding paper or stick?
