You talked about rendering but what about the actual editing performance? How did both work in the timeline? How much lag was it while scrubbing? You had a chance to go in-depth but blew it my friend.
You can’t have a “which on is right for you” vid with generic answers that *EVERYONE* on YouTube give.

I mostly need it for school work (my school is not like others, they give at least 2-3 500 word essays a day due the next day) but obviously I would also use it for something like Netflix or YouTube

I though I was going with an Air but three reviews have pushed me further and further toward the 13” Pro. It seems to be the sweet spot for the work I’m doing.

One thing with the MacBook Air though, it'll be a lot cooler on your lap after a lot of use versus the Pro. I'd take that into consideration, especially for students looking for a MacBook for essay drafting. Of couse, an iPad Pro Would also be very good temperature-wise. And in addition to being able to type on it, you can also be the Apple Pencil to handwrite notes in class and annotate PDFs basically allowing you to go paperless! The iPad Pro for me has basically replaced my computer!

touchbar should be between the spacebar and trackpad.
I would find it a much more natural position. Easily reachable with thumbs for quick keys.More natural reach for more complicated keys. We are already accustomed to reaching for the trackpad, so this would be a much more natural extension.

How come no one, not one, he mentioned that the Touch Bar was first built for x1 carbon first gen thinkpad but Lenovo scrapped it in 2nd gen of x1? That is telling that Lenovo would scrap it. It wasn’t used if at all. I had that laptop and didn’t use it.
