To speak clearly this is a terrible environment to model within. There are major tools that are buried places within the software that require one to know the name and search it on the search bar. If you are in the market for software, please check into solid works or inventor. The crashes, the lack of intuitive tools, the difficulty in finding tools, and the lack luster environment is dreadful. As a student i had the pleasure of having used Catia v5, inventor 2016, solid works, and creo 3.0, and can clearly state that creo is far less than the others in the list, but has a price tag that is 1000 less than solid works(second cheapest). If your company uses modeling software every day, choose to spend a little more now on the cad investment, the hours saved from not working in a non intuitive working environment should cover that extra cost per seat within the first month. That being said, there are many people who feel differently than I, but as someone who has had to learn each package, the difference in the packages is night and day.

Labh Singh Ramgarhia (2 years later) to add a chamfer right click on the part in the assembly model tree, click activate part, and then select the line you wish to add the chamfer. Select definition of chamfer ( angle and distance, distance distance, ect) then add chamfer. Then go back to the assembly by clicking on the title of the assembly in the model tree.
Alternate: open part to add chamfer and add the chamfer there and save. It will update within assembly mode.
