HP. Making printing more difficult than it has to be, for 60 years.

Having to sign up for an HP account to use their software, was the last straw for me. I'm going back to Brother.

Could you make it any more complicated?!!!!

This video is 100% NOT "how to find".. it tells you what to do AFTER you find it...but not HOW to find it. And that's the problem. I can't find it. Awesome support.

I can verify that the WPS Pin DOES NOT pop up on the screen when you attempt to connect, making it impossible to set up from this video.

I just bought an HP Envy Inspire 7200e. I've spent over an hour trying to figure out how to connect my laptop to this new printer wirelessly. In my world, I have enough to do without struggling with just connecting a laptop to a printer. An hour is long enough. So although the idea of being able to print wirelessly is attractive, I'm going back to cable, even though it means taping the cable to the floor so no one trips on it.

I actually have had lots of great experience with HP printers. I've used the 7200e via cable and it prints wonderfully. You folks at HP just need to streamline and simplify the process of connecting the printer to a device. Figure that out and you'll be golden.

Thanks, I hate it. I really do think HP deserves to get sued. I am pretty sure they have caused more than one heart attack in their time as a company by unnecessarily making it so damn frustrating.

It is much faster to drive to Target and buy any non-HP printer and then get back to

How is this even possible to create this and have a board of ppl sit there and say “yeah, this is amazing, great work guys” I’d fire them all

Difficult to setup, even the HP "Smart" app couldn't see the printer even though Windows could. After multiple tries the app finally found it and set it up. Then the print was only printing faded magenta so I fitted a new ink cartridge. That also just printed faded magenta as the print head was blocked from not being used for a few months. Tried the head clean and the app crashed and hung. Tried it again multiple times, including the second stage head clean but it would only print faint magenta.

Ran it over with my car and put it in the bin and went and bought a Brother multifunction. No issues since.

Hi, Everybody! I figured out what to do. Went to my local computer store, bought the appropriate cable, put my HP printer close to my PC, and hooked it up. It works!!!

You guys need to do a way to bypass this if you're in your own house with your own printer! It's the age of Work From Home and I don't need the extra step to know who's printer I'm trying to connect to!

Solved! After my laptop suddenly stopped talking to the printer, and a couple of hours of looking and trying to install, there's one missing piece of info that solves this that I only found via the virtual helper: When you get the Enter WPS PIN dialog, run to the printer--it's on the screen! You have 90 seconds to jot it down/memorize it and enter it in the box.

They honestly don't know how to explain and make it easy for those at home

We've all agreed this HP printer looks best in the dumpster. 3 man hours with this. Rediculous, never again.

I can't wait to smash this thing in my driveway tomorrow right before I leave to pick up a Brother printer. Looking forward to it.

This only took all morning, so far. Not there yet.

After my 30min anything-but-simple go-round to set this up, it makes me want to consider Brother or Epson. Seriously.

Totally useless. As a blind screen reader user, I got lots of "useful" info from this video, thank you very much. And there is no way of generating this code in the web interface of the printer, either. Many people here suggest the cable, but in our setup that doesn't really work: we have 4 laptops for two of us (one home and one work laptop for each). We managed to connect my wife's work laptop, but she really had to run and grab the printout with the code. Anyway, thank you for making our lives harder. Oh, I forgot to say that HP Smart is also extremely difficult accessibility-wise.
