We don't really recommend it though.

Been to Taiwan maybe 4 times and would go back in a heartbeat just for the food, beautiful sceneries and the friendly people and great service culture.

Your heartfelt monologue about your parents and your reflection on Taiwan’s and your own family history brought tears to my eyes. Wasn’t expecting this watching about budget travel in Taipei. Makes me miss home. I’m also a Taiwanese immigrant to the US

Thank you for this. Lived in Taiwan over a decade ago, and you getting emotional made me emotional. It's so easy to get caught up in that beautiful city ❤

I just got back home from Taiwan and the separation anxiety is kicking so bad. Taiwan is so beautiful. The people there are so warm and very helpful despite the language barrier. I love that elderly people are still accepted for work with no judgement. The transporation system was a breeze! So clean and safe. I fell in love with Taiwan and I'm coming back soon.🥹🥹🥹

Also, just like you, I felt so emotional the moment we got at Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall. The place was so solemn and full of stories in silence. My favorite so far.

I was in Taiwan two months ago and had a fantastic time. I would love to go back again. The Taiwanese are very friendly people and orderly. Taiwan reminds me of Japan.

Last time I've been to Taipei was almost a decade ago. But I'm going back to visit in January 2024! This time, I'm doing some research and came across this video, which definitely sparked ideas as I build my itinerary because it's practical, informative, and no nonsense.

This is the best vlog in a long time, if not the best I've seen from you two. Funny, moving, informative, so satisfying (food market lover here), and also the most inspirational one yet. I almost cried when you said your goal was to give away a trip because all you want is to inspire people to travel. Please know that you have done far more for us already.

Your past Hawaii vlogs are a reason why my trip went smooth-sailing this past summer. Then your credit card churning videos made my trip to Bali possible this past February, meaning just 8 months after I returned from Hawaii. I am already planning my next trip and I am again taking notes from your videos. You two are not just inspiring us to travel. You're literally making our travel dreams come true. I am subscribed, I love you both, and I am super grateful for all you continue to do :)

I’ve been to Taiwan many times. I always come back with a full wallet and the happiest of memories. Not one bad experience in living there for over 18 months.

I think Taiwan may be at the top of my travel list now, thanks to this video. Looks like airfare is a bit more reasonable in September.

I love that you guys don't mind about the video, and you keep the real pace of your travel, not a heavily edited pace for vlogging.

Josh&Lisa, this is one of your best and most informative vlogs. I just have one wish that you listed the sights and restaurants in the description, so we can find them.

Thank you Lisa & Josh, this was nice video of Taipei and you did it all for $100/day ... wow!!! I felt very emotional along with Lisa recounting to that memorial coinciding with her mother being born, the lighting of the lantern was also lovely, the waterfall, the food, the climb up Elephant Mountain ... thank you for giving us a glimpse of Taiwanese life. I have traveled quite a bit but never to Asia. I hope you get to fullfill your wish to give away a trip to someone deserving, someone who has never traveled outside of their city🙏

My wife and I just got back from Taipei. Her family is from Taiwan also. The food was so good! I was worried that you guys weren’t going to try 臭豆腐 (Chòu dòufu) lol. I had both the fried version and the soup version with blood cake and the the soup version in my opinion was so much tastier. Awesome video guys, made me miss Taiwan!

I am looking to visit Taipei and came across your channel. I really enjoyed your content. It was like a watching friends holiday video. Nothing annoying, pretentious & full of useless information like most of the travel vlogs in here. I cannot believe I watched the entire hour and had so much fun. I will definitely follow all of your food recommendations and tips. Thanks for creating this helpful and enjoyable video and am so excited now for my trip!!!

This video is a year old and you're probably never going to see this. I just started watching your videos while im working at my computer all day, and just wanted to say, you guys are so wholesome and this video made me cry. I have a 97 year old Japanese Oba-San who lived most of her young adult life on an island in Japan and Ive never asked her about her life, I dont know why. I am going to spend a weekend with her and ask her a million questions because of yall. Keep doing awesome things an having amazing adventures together <3
