My mom is a knitter and I used to think it was just a mindless hobby eventhough she started to do it for a living, working with a designer to knit sweaters. I tried it once and didn't know what I was doing. Then I opened my mind to this opportunity and stopped being ignorant, and realized what a genius my mom was. Knitting requires so much practice and math and intricate designs. When I started getting the hang of it, I knitted my husband and myself a sweater and it was the most gratifying experience. It made me realize how important it is to be open to learning even if learning is not in a classroom setting.
