What does the liver do? - Emma Bryce

There’s a factory inside you that weighs about 1.4 kilograms and runs for 24 hours a day. It’s your liver: the heaviest organ in your body, which simultaneously acts as a storehouse, a manufacturing hub, and a processing plant. Emma Bryce gives a crash course on the liver and how it helps keep us alive.

Lesson by Emma Bryce, animation by Andrew Zimbelman for The Foreign Correspondents' Club.

You are better than all of my biology teachers, I could listen to you everyday talking about whole human body. It is so fun.

My father was an alcoholic. After his death and autopsy they found his liver to be as hard as a rock and very dark. Now I'm not saying drinking is bad, but things like alcoholism does do damage to your Liver. It is a very important organ and shouldn't be mistreated.

Please, don't over do things the way my father did :/. Treat your liver with care.

The coolest background music in any Ted Ed videos... Have to rewind several times as distracted from the narration.

I'm surprised you guys didn't mention that the Liver is also one of the few organs that can regenerate if damaged or severed.
Even if you cut out most of it, and only had 1/3rd left, it can still fully recover.

This guy and the presentation were too good. Please make a series for all of the organs of the human body, you will have taught more than all of high school and college combined, in a fun way!

LOVED THIS VIDEO! SO HELPFUL! As a student studying for medical school, it's nice to find a video that makes learning the liver simple and easy. Obviously, I need to know more about the intricacies of this process, but the illustrations were helpful in helping me understand the basics of this system.

I love Ted Ed because it quenches my thirst for knowledge in the best way i could ever think of, it's been months since I discovered this channel but i had watched all of their biology and science related videos in the first few days and i can watch these video's again and again because they have so much of knowledge, i never thought that biology and science can be made this interesting which can even boost yourself to study these subjects with more interest and passion.
