On Thursday, April 7, the Vice President and Second Gentleman attended the Opening Reception of the Afro-Atlantic Histories Exhibition at the National Gallery of Art, in Washington DC. Vice President Harris was met with wild applause as she remarked about the extraordinary events happening on this one day: the first Black woman Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, becoming a Supreme Court Justice and the first exhibit at the National Museum focused on the Black and African people in the United States.
The Afro-Atlantic Histories exhibition which will be on view from April 10 - July 17, 2022 takes an in-depth look at the historical experiences and cultural formations of Black and African people since the 17th century. More than 130 powerful works of art, including paintings, sculpture, photographs, and time-based media by artists from Africa, Europe, the Americas, and the Caribbean, bring these narratives to life.

She is only Black, when it benefits her, which is so very adamant, with her very first choice words - They’re so many other Black women who deserve that title and actually earned by intellect and not by marrying a white man or by Whats between her legs - so to all my beautiful black sister, who truly support us.. We stand and honor you.
