Great review Coop! I picked up an Ironmaster IM2000 of marketplace and then pimped it out with nearly every attachment and I am glad I did, the good folks at Ironmaster even helped me out with spare parts when I reached out to them, the photos don't do it justice, this machine is actually very solid, functionaly built not overbuilt, 11 gauge steel and the more you use it the more you realise how well thought out this design is from the single very hefty back post freeing up space and adding functionality to the 4 tier plate storage that doesn't interfere with the function like on a 4 post power rack to the small footprint, not having to bolt it down. Having trained for 20 years and worked in gyms it is fair to say this is probably the smoothest Smith bar I have ever used, it is almost perfect for a home gym as it is very quiet so you can train early AM without waking the house up.

There is an optional low row footplate (isn't everything an add-on with Ironmaster) that gives you a greater range of motion and also a docking support turning it into a cable curl machine with the preacher pad accessory and the pump you will get has to be experienced to be believed (these attachments also work with the Ironmaster stand-alone lat tower as well).

You used to see earlier iterations of this machine advertised in bodybuilding magazines back in the day. So if you are looking for a half rack, belt squat, smith machine, low row, pull-down, vertical leg press, machine curl, pec dec etc to add to your home gym I think you will be impressed with how well it actually functions if not by the price and aesthetics although having one of these bad boys parked in your garage will scream old school pumping iron!

I bought my IM2000 8 years ago. Loved it got all the attachments with it there are tiers of packages that include the attachments etc. I had to sell it when I moved across the country. I loved it so daym much I bought it again in 2020. I have all the attachments except the belt squat thing. Yea it’s not ideal for everything but it’s small footprint and variety of set ups is a must for me. In combination with my powertec leverage gym I find that I can do 90% of the exercises I used to do in a commercial gym. I have the IM adjustable dumbbells as well. I love it so much and I’ll keep it as long as I’m working out at home.

Whoa! I thought you would never do this one.

Props to ironmasters. 40 years in the game and still out innovating everyone.

I picked this up just prior to lockdown for around $1300. I've been adding all the attachments over time. My big knock is that IronMaster does seem to nickel and dime you on things you'd think should come standard. From a bodybuilding standpoint, and especially with limited space, you really can't go wrong with the IronMaster ecosystem. The IM2000, Super Bench, their adjustable dumbbells, and some attachments and there's hardly a body building movement you can't do. Then you combine the j-cups with the spotter arms giving you the ability to do barbell movements, it's really the best of both worlds. The leg press footplate isn't that bad either, if you consider for around $100 you also can have an inverted leg press. I also got the belt squat under $100 at an intro price. It's surprising how many different movements you can have in such a small space, their attachments are really well thought out. The only downfall is that if this is your only machine it will take some time switching between exercises, and only one person at a time can use it.

I’m a proud IM owner starting with the Im500 to the im2000. You can do so much. I would say the only thing I wish they would put in the next product or upgrades should be a functional trainer using the existing lifting bar or weight horns. I thought this would happen for many years but I have not seen anything yet…. It is for this reason I think it could be disruptive. I have all of their attachments including the bench, dumbbells etc. it is truly the best self spotting system out there. The side rails are proprietary hole pattern so you are delegated to using the IM ecosystem which still is very good…there is pull downs all types, preacher, self spotting, leg press, dips, belt squat, land mine, bands, pec deck, calf raise, leg curls/ bench etc, pull ups, all row variations, free bar, presses-all, shoulder press- all, etc

Customer service is amazing! I owned one for 15 years and used it almost every day. Sold it due to shoulder problems. Great machine!

I’ve been telling you for years to review this. I’m happy you finally did it.❤❤❤

13:22 Ive been screaming their praise since 2019 but I am glad you finally reviewed it.

After owning mine for a few years, here are a few things I loved and didn’t love.

1. Space saving
2. Smooth pulley and smith machine
3. Customer service (Warranty is amazing!)
4. Company history
5. Quality of the equipment
6. I’ve done over 450 lbs on the pec dec when it says it’s only good for 350 lbs.
7. The pulleys are actually 1 to 1 ratio and the pec dec is 2 to 1 ratio which I didn’t hear mentioned by Coop

What I don’t like.
1. To get all the equipment with the accessories, even with the discounts, you will be spending a lot.
2. The pulleys are not multidirectional so you have to be perfectly in line with machine. I used to put tape on my gym floor and also around my machine to stay lined up.
2. Using the lower portion when doing pull downs, getting in the position and getting enough stretch or having enough slack was tricky WHEN using heavy weights.
3. The straight up and down smith bar doesn’t feel as good as an angled one like they have in gyms.
4. Using the smith bar and dead lifts, it doesn’t go low enough for me (6’3”) so you can only do partials or stand on a platform.
5. I wish the leg press attachment could change the angle.
6. Bought the low pulley foot plate and almost never used it. Didn’t give me that much more of a stretch.
7. I got tired of using the Olympic bar for my pulley exercises and at the end of the day wish that I had dedicated weight stacks and also multiple height angles to choose from along with the multidirectional pulley system.

I wish they sold a bench holder for inside the machine to make sure it’s properly aligned so you don’t mess up your shoulders. I used wood I screwed together to keep the bench exactly in the middle

I love my IM 2000. I got it off of FB marketplace and I have since added the leg press plate and belt squat attachment. This makes getting a great all around leg workout easy and fun. I also have the super bench with leg developer. Awesome product and totally worth it.

Note: there is actually a foot plate you can buy. It isnt diamond plated, but it exists.

Finally! I absolutely love my Ironmaster im2000. When you consider this particular version has been out since 2005, old versions going back to the late 70’s early 80’s it’s pretty incredible. So ahead of its time and still such a unique, versatile machine.

I have an IM1000 I bought 30 years ago and I still love it. It has native 2" everything. I swapped out the plastic pulleys for aluminum ones last year. From the specs the IM2000 looks to be about 6" deeper. In a small space every bit counts, and I have a cardio machine in the same spare bedroom. The IM1000 had an available low row attachment, but it was cumbersome so I never bought it. The other thing is the IM1000 bench is much less versatile than super bench since it attaches to the IM spine, but it is sturdy and compact and all I need. I suspect but don't know for sure that the IM2000 belt squat attachment could be adapted to the IM1000.

I love ironmaster. I have a set of their dumbbells, extra weights and the extended collars, their now discontinued fat grips, their bench, and in the past i had their lat tower and the accessory tree with almost every accessory for the bench. I did end up getting rid of the lat tower and most of the accessories due to constant moves and limited space since I'm a Soldier. But damn if i had my original basement again I'd absolutely go all out with Ironmaster products all over again.

Whoa! Never thought I would see the Ironmaster 2000 on here! IM is old school precovid home gym equipment. No hype or marketing needed. What's next, Powertec products?! 🤣
