Hey Dave, I have the same Fender Stage Tuner. I saw yours in use on your videos some long months and months plus a few days ago, before you got that crazy Timothy Leary brand oscillating gyrating seismic inductive geiger counting tuner you use now.
So anyways, I see yours and it looked cool and I saw one on that auction site in the east bay and I bought it real cheap, in new condition. It's great, despite it's lack of pulsating hippie lights. It now appears to serve the same purpose yours does. Sits on top of some other junk, unused, looking cool. I even took the battery out so i wouldn't forget about it so long that it leaked alkaline acid all over the inside and ruin the tuner...that I don't use.
If I had the Tim Leary tuner, I'd forget about my Fender tuner too. Hell, I would forget about just about everything, watching that gizmos mesmerizing mind control lights.
In all seriousness, You have a great youtube channel and I learn a lot about guitar repair, POS gooched guitars, Nice guitars, ...and squibs...and swiss steak....and stuff.

Hope you can tough it out with the mildew stank. I'm curious to see what the electronics look like. Dryer sheets seem to work sometimes to get the stink out of old cases! Great to see a new video, always fun and educational!

Interesting guitar. I would imagine that this old relic must have some sentimental value to the owner. I bet for a competent craftsman like you this is easily salvageable, despite the stank. Lol. Make the owner proud, Dave.

Hi Dave, I had a guitar come in the other day in just about the same smell condition. I am very sensitive to mold smells and I get raspy voice and breathing problems. anyway the only way I was able to work on it was by keeping the temperature as cold as I could stand. that keep the smell way down and cold actually decreases the mold from growing. I also cleaned it with a mold and mildew cleaner like Tilex. Hope that helps.

I've acquired an allergy to mold within the past 20 yrs; when I get around that kind of mold, chest gets tight quick. Yeah, maybe time to bail:)

I think rigor mortis has set that's why the neck is so straight? It's a shame that it was forgotten for so long, because she was beautiful once. Hopefully there are stiff penalties for "neglect" in Canada. Haha! Looking forward to the next vid! Cheers!

Interesting guitar for sure. Put some activated charcoal in the case (and maybe in the guitar too) and see if it freshens up the smell a bit. This would be a good one for your "full DNA" removal. I would be too curious about it to not go through it. Should be good for 3 or 4 videos giving it the full treatment.
